Improving Web Traffic Sales

With internet marketing, increasing the traffic to your website is just the first step. You need to perform search engine optimisation (SEO) on your website in order to improve your rankings in the search engines, and usability testing to make sure that your website doesn’t lose the traffic you have, but you also need to make sure that your website is converting.

If you are already receiving a fair amount of traffic to your website, but your conversion rates are low, then you need to take steps to improve your web traffic sales. Using a web stats package such as Google Analytics you’ll be able to see just where your website visitors are leaving your website. If you know where your website is going wrong, you’ll be able to correct the problem to improve your sales.

Analytics will show you the path that users are taking through your website, where they are coming from and where they are leaving. This will allow you to determine whether you need to make any changes to your website to increase your sales. For example, if your visitors are leaving after the first page, perhaps they aren’t aware of your products or offers? If they are leaving at the product pages, maybe your buy buttons aren’t clear enough, your product descriptions aren’t sufficient or your product images are poor. Maybe your prices aren’t competitive and you’re losing traffic to competitor sites?

Many of these problems can be determined via examining your analytics data, which will allow you to make changes to your website and increase your sales.
